With six varsity starters out of the lineup tonight due to illness and injuries, the RMS Jr. Bulldogs suffered their first season loss against Kaneland 48-53. Although several JV wrestlers were able to fill most of the gaps in the lineup, Kaneland still proved to be too much for Rotolo in the dual. Let's hope all of the boys get healthy during the Christmas break so that they can finish the season strong in January!
Despite missing four varsity starters Tuesday, the Jr. Bulldogs were able to adjust their lineup and bring up a few JV wrestlers to fill the gaps in order to dominate Haines M.S. 76-25. This was a true test of the team's depth, and they rose to the occasion. Kudos to a group of really talented boys!
Those of us who attended the Wheaton Tournament on 12/9 can consider ourselves very lucky...it turned out to be a small, well-run, fast tournament with good-natured competition for our youngest kids (many of whom shared a bracket) and fairly competitive matches for the older boys. It was great to see 14 of our rookies make their tournament debut! Several boys brought home first-place medals. Congratulations to all of our wrestlers. Keep
With more than half of the varsity comprised of Batavia Wrestling Club kids, RMS remains undefeated for the season and brought home a 1st place trophy today from the Geneva team tournament. Congratulations to all of the wrestlers who competed!
The club's first tournament of the season was at Neuqua Valley on Sunday, Dec. 2. We had 23 boys who wrestled, including several rookies. It was great fun to be back at a tournament, even sitting on those hard, wooden bleachers. We staked our claim to a bleacher section with our club banner taped to the wall, and enjoyed getting to know some new families as we cheered our boys on throughout the day. The highlight for me was seeing our two tots come back up to their parents, grinning ear to ear, with shiny new medals around their necks. I think they're hooked! (And I think their parents are, too!)
Next Sunday we will be in Wheaton with 40 Pinners! |
