| Tyler Perry came back from an early loss to take out four straight opponents and claim his second State Title in 3 weeks. Competing at the 95lb Novice division, Tyler tech falled his opponent in the finals. Also, congrats to Dominic Savini who placed third at Novice 105lbs.  |  |

Sydney Perry took 3rd in the State a few weeks ago. She went 3-1 while pinning three of her opponents. Her only loss was a overtime loss to the 3x defending champ! Well done Sydney!  We took six of our 9&10 year olds to Danville in late March for the Midget State Championships. Congratulations to four of our wrestlers Zach Szuberla, Zach Zink, Harley Karner and Dominic Savini who came within one match of placing. We did get two wrestlers on the podium with Aidan Huck (6th) and Sean Scheck (3rd) placing in state!    A total of 5 BWC wrestlers advanced to the IKWF State Tournament last weekend. Mikey Caliendo capped off his 48-4 season with a huge 3rd place finish. This is the highest IKWF finish for a BWC wrestler in over 10 years. Congrats to our other state qualifiers Riley Woods, Shawn Fichtel, Zach Benson and Adan Mendoza.
 We took 7 wrestlers to Bantam State this year featuring the best 6-8yr olds in Illinois. Congratulations to our three placewinners in Andrew Koc (2nd), Jack Duraski (4th) and Dylan Wells (5th). Also competing were Tyler Pepin, Cole Howland , Brayden Howland and Braden Garcia. Andrew Koc's 2nd place finish was the highest in club history at Bantam State!
Sean Scheck takes 6th in Midget State
 The end of the season saw many of our wrestlers at all ages competing at the state level, and we are proud of their achievements!
Bantam State placers: Sean Scheck, 4th place and Seth Larson, 5th place. Midget State placers: Zack Benson, 2nd place and Mikey Caliendo, 2nd place. Girls State placer: Summer Gunnell, 3rd place. IKWF State Qualifiers: Andy Posledni (Novice), Dylan Doranski (Senior) and Mike Bautch (Senior). Our Senior wrestlers also brought home 3rd place honors from the tough West Chicago Regional tournament.  We had 29 rookies at the Marengo rookie tournament on Saturday, our RMS wrestlers competed at the conference tournament on Saturday, and another 12 wrestlers competed at Neuqua Valley on Sunday. By all reports, our kids wrestled great!
We had some really strong rookie performances with lots of 1st place trophies coming home. We are not surprised at all considering the strong group of 1st and 2nd year wrestlers we've brought into the club. Many of our middle school wrestlers represented RMS varsity at Saturday's conference tournament. All of our club kids placed in this 11-team tournament, including four champs! Congratulations on a job well done, boys! Today's Neuqua tournament was tough as usual, but our kids held their own and several of them brought home the top prize, too. It was an exciting start to what's sure to be a big season for Batavia Wrestling Club! We've said it for years, and a bunch of former club members have proven it this year -- the best football players are WRESTLERS!
BHS Football brought home the 6A state championship last weekend will a lot of help from current and former wrestlers, most of whom came out of our club. We are so excited for these hard-working boys, and we're proud to claim them as our own!
